Dr. Angel serves full-time as an Associate Director of Residential Services, overseeing programs that support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), autism, and mental health diagnoses in licensed residential settings. In addition to her leadership role in nonprofit human services, she is an Adjunct Professor of Communication in higher education.
She holds two Master of Arts degrees: one in English and Creative Writing and another in Strategic Communication and Leadership. She is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society. Dr. Angel also holds certifications in Dual Diagnosis through the NADD Association, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion through Southern New Hampshire University, along with numerous additional professional certifications in leadership, education, and human services.
As a published author, Dr. Angel’s work has appeared in both print and online publications, including the anthology Always and For Never, which features her short story, Dinner for Two. Her debut novel, Stoop, is available through major online retailers and bookstores.
With more than two decades of experience spanning human services, nonprofit leadership, higher education, and professional writing, Dr. Angel has built a career centered on advocacy, education, leadership, and creating opportunities for others. Her work bridges executive leadership, teaching, research, and storytelling, bringing together practical experience and academic scholarship.
In addition to her professional roles, Dr. Angel is the founder and creative force behind Section 8 Agency, an independent publishing, media, and creative platform dedicated to amplifying working-class voices, creativity, labor history, literature, and social justice. She is currently completing her second novel while preparing her doctoral dissertation for publication in a peer-reviewed education journal.
When she isn’t leading teams, teaching students, writing, or building new creative projects, Dr. Angel is raising four teenagers—who are quickly becoming adults—with her husband of more than two decades, all fueled by an unwavering commitment to community, lifelong learning, and an endless supply of espresso.
